Post Season Life Update

As some of you may know, I am a little bit of a control freak. I am organized, I am timely, and I always like to have a plan. Baseball life is really changing all of that for me. Since I visited Daniel in Utah, there really has not been any exciting news to report. Since getting back home, I have been doing a lot of waiting around for the off season and planning our big move from Louisiana to Daniel's hometown in Texas. However, everything is changing now. My next and most exciting (yet kind of scary) adventure is about to begin.

While I was visiting Daniel in Utah, he injured his hand while batting in the last game I was there for (figures he gets hurt the very first time I see him play pro ball, right?). Thank goodness it was not his catching hand that was injured, but he still could not pick up a bat. Doctors originally thought it was a strained ligament in his hand, but after a couple weeks of rest and not much recovery progress, they sent him back to Arizona where the Diamondbacks players do their rehab. This is where we started to get wrenches thrown into our plans because like most things in baseball, nothing goes as expected.

Not knowing how serious his injury was or when he and I would be able to make our big move, I began to push my last day of work in Louisiana back further and further. After running a couple tests on his hand, we've learned that Daniel has a sprained wrist and a slightly torn tendon... which, you guessed it(!), requires him to stay in Arizona for who knows how long! Now this is where things get interesting... My last days of work in our cute little college town are coming to end, and soon I will be jobless for the first time in I don't even know how long. Since Daniel is not able to come back to Louisiana and make the move with me like we originally planned, I am taking the move to him. That's right, I am packing up my little car with everything I own and I am heading West to Arizona! Because I figured, if I am going to be jobless, I might as well be jobless with the one I love, right?

With all that being said, we are still praying for a speedy recovery for Daniel so we can get on with our off season life in our new home city of El Paso, Texas (well, new for me at least). While I am so excited to start this new chapter of life, I am also kind of sad in a way. I have never lived in a state outside of Louisiana, and I have never lived far away from my family. I will miss the closeness of my family and friends, but I know I have a whole new family waiting for me in Texas. I am not sure what the next few weeks will hold for us, as we are kind of just living week to week right now, but I do know for sure that I wouldn't rather do it with anyone else.

Arizona, here I come!
